Note
- Embryo sexing: bovine embryos can be reliably sexed by using an embyro biopsy technique adapted for commercial embryo transfer. With this technique, a Y chromosome DNA sequence is amplified by using a polymerase chain reaction test performed on biopsied cells. The presence or absence of the Y-specific sequence is then determined by using gel electrophoresis. (Source : INRA)
