sperm capacitation
Nota
- Capacitation is defined as the series of transformations that spermatozoa normally undergo during their migration through the genital tract, in order to reach and bind the zona pellucida, undergo the acrosome reaction, and fertilize the egg. In vitro numerous capacitation systems have been used including high ionic strength media and glycosaminoglycans such as heparin and fucose sulphate, ageing, pH shift, calcium ionophores and caffeine and oviduct fluid.
