out-of-season breeding
Note
- During the last 35 years the treatments available for out-of-season breeding have not made a significant impact on British systems of lamb production in the case of progestagen - PMSG treatment - it has been largely due to an unacceptably low level of fertility following treatment during deep anoestrum . Photostimulation on the other hand results in a high level of fertility and is the only treatment which confers the advantages of oestrous cyclicity. (Source : INRA)
