- Decorative style consisting of zoomorphic motifs (quadrupeds, sea creatures and human masks) mostly combined in symmetrical pairs or processions within given decorative fields, usually constituting a frieze; and geometric motifs (palmettes, tendril scrills, S-scrolls, triangles, circles, semicircles and dots); used for belt fittings and circular brooches, southern England, early 5th c.+ [Suzuki]
