Augsburg Confession
Definition
- A summary of the Christian faith drawn up during the Reformation for the Diet of Augsburg, and presented to the emperor Charles V. It was written by Luther, Melanchthon, and two others. A final authorized text was issued, to create the document which remains of foundational importance in Lutheranism. [Concise ODWR]
