- Spontaneous memorials, usually consisting of flowers, candles, photographs, stuffed animals or other items, at the site, or at a stand-in site, of an accidental or other violent death; in some countries, may be more or less permanent shrines erected in thanksgiving for some benefit, such as surviving an accident
