- The artistic and architectural movement influenced by Cubism and Futurism and centered in Russia ca.1913; announced in the publication of the Realist Manifesto in 1920, the name coming from one of its proclamations "to construct" art; characterized by simple, precise abstract compositions typically of modern materials, such as steel, glass and iron [AAT]
