- Developed directly from the Jellinge style [q.v.]; uses semi-naturalistic animals; plant or asymmetrical scrolls; wavy and freqently dented outlines; typically, one or two large motifs fill a panel with abrupt twists and turns; 2nd half 10th-beginning 11th c.
