Double oak trees
Définition
- Formed by tying two young oaks together so that they become one tree; created in Schleswig-Holstein during the revolution of 1848, as a symbol of liberty, after a patriotic song by M.F. Chemitz used the image; on the 50th anniversary of the revolution, double-oaks bearing memorial plaques were planted throughout the region
