- Use for the motif derived from the highly stylized plant motif of Eastern design called the boteh, copied from Kashmiri shawls by the woollen manufacturers of Paisley, Scotland, 19th c., and becoming popular in Britain and France; occurs in many variations and with numerour ancillary motifs, particularly in textile patterns [AAT]
