Definition
- Actin-rich adhesive structures found at the ventral surface of metazoan ENDOTHELIAL CELLS. When found in cultured cancer cells they are referred to as invadopodia. These are matrix-degrading structures composed of an ACTIN CYTOSKELETON core and an INTEGRINS-containing ring complex.
