Definition
- Infection caused by bacteria of the genus BRUCELLA mainly involving the MONONUCLEAR PHAGOCYTE SYSTEM. This condition is characterized by fever, weakness, malaise, and weight loss. Human BRUCELLA infection with pulmonary involvement such as EMPYEMA; LUNG ABSCESS; and PLEURAL EFFUSION.
