Definition
- Passage of a CATHETER into the URINARY BLADDER or kidney. Employment or passage of CATHETER through the URETHRA into the URINARY BLADDER Employment or passage of a CATHETER into the URETER from the kidney towards the URINARY BLADDER or from the bladder towards the kidney. The use of a Foley catheter, a type of balloon catheter that was invented to be a URINARY CATHETER that holds itself in place by inflation of the balloon tip.
