Definition
- A gastrointestinal disorder characterized by repetitive and effortless regurgitation of ingested food from the stomach to the oral cavity in the early POSTPRANDIAL PERIOD. It is associated with functional gastrointestinal pathology (e.g., increased intra-gastric pressure) and psychiatric disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression). It is not limited to infants and distinct from GERD and VOMITING.
