Definition
- A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands. Individuals whose ancestral origins are in the islands of the central and South Pacific, including Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, traditionally Australasia including New Zealand. A group that includes the Australian aborigines and possibly some other remnant populations of Malaysia. (From Molnar, Races, Types, and Ethnic Groups, 1975, p17). Individuals whose ancestral origins are in New Zealand.
