Definition
- A member of the Bcl-2 protein family that reversibly binds MEMBRANES. It is a pro-apoptotic protein that is activated by caspase cleavage. A C-terminal fragment of Bid protein that is produced by caspase cleavage. tBID is the active from of the protein and it redistributes from the CYTOSOL to MITOCHONDRIA to promote release of CYTOCHROME C.
