Definition
- The use of photothermal effects of LASERS to coagulate, incise, vaporize, resect, dissect, or resurface tissue. The utilization of photothermal effects of LASERS to denature COLLAGEN without destroying tissue. The use of a laser either to vaporize surface lesions or to make bloodless cuts in tissue. It does not include the coagulation of tissue by laser (LASER COAGULATION).
