Definition
- Various manipulations of body tissues, muscles and bones by hands or equipment to improve health and circulation, relieve fatigue, promote healing. Approaches that emphasize manipulation and realignment of the body's structure in order to improve function as well as mental outlook. Cerebrospinal fluid flow stimulation by massage of the head and spine. Developed by William Sutherland in the early 1900's.
