Definition
- An aspect of personal behavior or lifestyle, environmental exposure, inborn or inherited characteristic, which, based on epidemiological evidence, is known to be associated with a health-related condition considered important to prevent. Social risk factors are specific adverse social conditions that are associated with poor health, like social isolation, poverty, limited community resources, or housing instability. Causes and other factors that influence the occurrence of disease and other health-related events.
