Définition
- A family of plant viruses where the VIRION possesses an unusual morphology consisting of a pair of isometric particles. Transmission occurs via leafhoppers or whitefly. Some viruses cause economically important diseases in cultivated plants. There are four genera: Mastrevirus, Curtovirus, Topocuvirus, and BEGOMOVIRUS. A genus of the family GEMINIVIRIDAE with the host range restricted to dicotyledonous plants including tomatoes and kidney beans. The type species is Tomato pseudo-curly top virus. A genus of the family GEMINIVIRIDAE, whose type species Beet curly top virus has a very wide host range. A genus of the family GEMINIVIRIDAE with narrow host ranges mostly limited to members of Poaceae. Type species is MAIZE STREAK VIRUS.
