Définition
- The transition region is a thin and very irregular layer of the Sun's atmosphere, a few hundred kilometers deep, that lies between the chromosphere and the corona. Within the temperature climbs steeply from about 20,000 K in the chromosphere to over 1,000,000 K at the base of the corona.
