Concept information
Preferred term
criminals' autobiographies
Definition
- Autobiographical narratives written by criminals have provided both information for social scientists who study crime and entertainment for the general public. These works share narrative space with other works about the lives of criminals, such as gallows confessions, broadsheets, pamphlets, and fiction, including novels and films.
