Definition
- A strategic issue is a change factor in the external environment that has the potential to affect an organization's ability to fulfill its strategic goals. Typical criteria used to classify an issue as “strategic” include probable impact on the organization as a whole, significant financial implications due to resources required to respond or resulting from failure to respond, and the probability that the effects of the issue will be felt over several years.
