power distance
Definition
- The extent to which members of institutions and organizations expect and accept that authority is distributed unequally and located in individuals and places at some remove from them. Power distance also describes the extent to which employees accept that superiors have more power, income, and/or influence than they actually have and that the decisions and opinions of their superiors are, by and large, the right ones.
