- The sociology of juvenile corrections refers to the systematic application of the knowledge, concepts, methods, and techniques of sociology to the study of juvenile corrections. In broad terms, the sociology of juvenile corrections refers to the ways in which social structures (groups, organizations, communities), social categories (age, class, sex, and race) and social institutions (political, economic, and religious) affect the development of how society deals with delinquent or status offending minors.
