- Christine de Pizan (sometimes written Pisan because of confusion of her family name with the city of Pisa) was one of the most prolific political writers of the late medieval period. Her works on a variety of political issues, such as good government, the role of women, just war, the evils of civil war, and the like, were widely circulated and respected.
