  • Italy, Spain, and Portugal have a small number of intentional communities when compared with other European nations, such as Germany. According to the German book Eurotopia, a reference book of intentional communities, Germany has close to one hundred such communities, while in each of the three Mediterranean countries discussed here, the number of residential projects is still below ten.
