Definition
- Cultural anthropologists have studied deception around the world and have found that they exist in virtually all human societies in varying degrees of frequency and concern. Deception is actually a fundamental human capacity, found even in nonhuman primates, and societies struggle to strike a balance between it and the desire to be good, trustworthy, and honest.
