Definition
- Structural linguistics studies language as a structure or system rather than a process. It formed the basis for the rapid development of STRUCTURALISM across the social sciences and humanities in the 1960s, and its influence can be traced through many philosophical and theoretical debates in the last decades of the 20th century.
