juvenile curfews

Definition

  • Curfews are regulations or laws which require selected classes of people, historically usually poor, lower-class, slaves, minorities, or juveniles, to be off the street during certain hours, usually at night. It is noteworthy that those subject to these controls are almost always politically powerless, but feared. [Source: Encyclopedia of Street Crime in America; Juvenile Curfews]
