Definition
- The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) is a national organization that solicits voluntary member institutions of teacher education “to promote the learning of all PK–12 students through the promotion of high-quality preparation and continuing education for all school personnel” (). This Washington D.C.–based organization boasts membership of over 740 liberal arts colleges, state universities, research institutions, and education organizations from throughout the United States that prepare approximately two thirds of the nation's new school personnel each year.
