Harry Braverman
Definition
- Harry Braverman (1920–76) was an influential political activist and theoretician whose 1974 book Labor and Monopoly Capital: The Degradation of Work in the Twentieth Century laid the groundwork for contemporary sociological scholarship of work. Braverman's critical examination of the labor process under monopoly capitalism sparked numerous important debates that scholars of work continue to engage.
