These include (a) characteristics of the individual's social network such as size (e.g., number of relationships), nature (e.g., types of relationships), and frequency of contact; (b) evaluation of relationships such as social support and loneliness; and (c) measures regarding a specific relationship (e.g., marital relationship, parent-child relationship).
