  • Separatists are members of a distinct cultural, ethnic, political, or religious group who advocate various degrees of autonomy for their group or detachment of their group from the dominant population within a country. Many such movements advocate complete separation from the parent country and the establishment of full political sovereignty for the group in the territorial area it occupies.
