Definition
- The National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education (NCWGE) is a nonprofit coalition of over 30 organizations founded in 1975 in Washington, D.C., to advance gender equity goals both in and through education. NCWGE's initial and continued focus has been on the full implementation of Title IX, a 1972 civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.
