academic achievement and physical activity
Definition
- Considering the amount of time students spend in school and the influence schools have on students' cognitive, social, and physiological development, the Coordinated School Health model provides a clear avenue for facilitating the link between academic achievement and physical activity. Schools have the resources and opportunities to provide physical activity to their students through physical education (PE) classes, recess, classroom-based physical activity, and, sometimes, school-sponsored extracurricular physical activities.
