Definition
- Epidemiology studies the frequency, distribution, and determinants of health events in human populations and applies this knowledge to design, implement, and evaluate interventions for preventing and controlling health problems. One of the main applications of epidemiology is to identify populations at risk of disease or death and implement early preventive or curative interventions.
