- MYELODYSPLASTIC/MYELOPROLIFERATIVE DISEASES (MMD) involve functional abnormalities in the blood and bone marrow. These diseases share characteristics of both myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myeloproliferative disorders (MPD), and result in an overproduction of white blood cells.
