Definition
- Chemoprevention is the use of drugs, vitamins or other chemical agents to try to reduce the risk of developing cancer, to delay development of cancer or to reduce recurrence of cancer. The National Cancer Institute established a program in the 1980s to evaluate possible effectiveness of many compounds both natural and synthetic.
