  • Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are tax-advantaged vehicles that are intended to both help individuals manage and pay for routine medical care and help bring down the cost of medical care. They were created in 2003 as part of the medicare modernization act (PL 108–173), which added a prescription drug benefit to medicare.
