Definition
- The safe and drug-free schools and communities program is the federal government's major initiative to prevent drug abuse and violence in and around schools. The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1986 (20 U.S.C. 3181) was amended in 1989 by Public Law 101–226 to become the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.
