- THE TERM METASTATIC squamous neck cancer refers to cancers of squamous cell origin that have spread to lymph nodes of the neck. Squamous cells are flat cells that line organs, and their unregulated growth and replication can develop various head and neck, lung, skin, and cervical cancers.
