Preferred term
racial and ethnic minorities, issues in treatment
Definition
- Given recent demographic trends, by the year 2100, non-Hispanic Whites will constitute only 40% of the U.S. population. As the numbers of ethnic and racial minorities increase, careful research to adapt social services, including substance abuse treatment, to the needs of ethnically and racially diverse individuals is necessary.
