Definition
- Attachment refers to the quality of the relationship between a child and the child's caregiver. The term encompasses a number of different aspects of parent-child interaction, including the degree to which a child seeks comfort from the caregiver, the preference of the primary caregiver to other adults, proximity to the caregiver while exploring his or her environment, and reaction to separation and reunion with the caregiver.
