tax crimes

Definition

  • A tax crime is any form of activity aimed at illegally avoiding paying taxes levied by the state on personal income and a range of other financial transactions. Tax crimes are generally met with a severe response by the authorities, and the threat of a personal or organizational audit helps to deter at least some people from being creative with their tax returns.
