- A SOFT TISSUE sarcoma is a malignant (cancerous) tumor that develops in the soft tissues connecting, supporting, or surrounding the structures and organs of the body. Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons (fibrous tissue connecting muscles to bones), fat, blood vessels, nerves, and synovial tissues around joints.
