National Hospice Study
Definition
- The National Hospice Study was initiated in 1980 through a grant sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson and John A. Hartford Foundations and the Health Care Financing Agency (HCFA). The aim of the 3-year study, begun in the summer of 1981, was to conduct a national evaluation of hospice that provides palliative and supportive care for terminal patients.
