school privatization
Definition
- A controversial and often politically tinged idea, school privatization in the United States describes a range of proposals to transfer K-12 education from the public to the private sector. These proposals stem mostly from conservative critiques of public education that in turn sparked reforms such as school vouchers, charter schools, and school choice.
