- THE HOLDEN COMPREHENSIVE Cancer Center at the University of Iowa (UI) was established in 1980 by the board of regents of the state of Iowa. The Holden Center, located in Iowa City, coordinates all cancer-related patient care, education, and research at the UI and at the UI hospitals and clinics.
