  • The goal of the Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University () is to conduct applied research projects and to bring the results of this and other outreach programs to the youth-serving community-based organizations that are working to improve the lives of America's children, families, and communities. The institute serves as a training ground for young applied developmental scientists, conducts research on positive youth development, hosts a wide variety of public lectures and symposia, and develops electronic and print publications in academic and nonacademic venues to change the way people think and talk about young people.
